Time for Something Completely Different
Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 8:42PM As my last days as a twenty-something wind down, several thoughts have occurred to me. If I pause to reflect on how I viewed life in my early to mid 20's, I can honestly say I never would have imagined my life could be as wonderful as it is now. Although my twenties started out on fairly rocky and tumultuous footing, I am pleased to say that my personal drive and hard work has finally begun to pay off. Not only do I feel a great sense of accomplishment on a professional level, but I also feel completely whole on a personal level. It takes a special kind of person who can tolerate my sporadic creative bursts along with my rather blunt thoughts and opinions - let alone allow me to continue pursuing my freedom and creative aspirations. The icing on the cake is that this happens without the proverbial toe-tapping and angry vibes that some spouses/partners seem to emit.
I have decided to put a nice little bow around the last several years of my life. As I cross into my thirties this coming Sunday (June 14th), I hope to not only build upon this solid foundation of love and accomplishment - but really strive toward getting in tune with my innermost thoughts, dreams, and desires. At this stage in my life, I can honestly say that I have a strong understanding of who I am. My short term goal is to really hone in on that - identifying key elements that define my core being. Hopefully, this will not only reaffirm what I perceive myself as, but also sketch out some potential paths as I move toward the future.
On that note, my first goal is to set the stage. I hope you enjoy my new site!!

I like the new site! I'll be looking forward to what's yet to come in the future. Can't say I can relate to the age factor, haha, but it did just recently occur to me that in ten years I'll be 30. Freaked me out temporarily (LOL) though it brought on some good laughs in the house. Sounds like you've had some great accomplishments thus far with many more on the way (speaking of which - hopefully a Bit & Bridle iPhone app is on the list!). With all that said, happy birthday! :)
I have to say, it is kind of cool hitting the 30 mark. I used to think that leaving the twenty-something realm would make me feel old and somewhat depressed, but honestly it's quite the opposite. Guess the bottom line is that life ultimately is what we make of it - initially dictated by circumstances, but largely dictated by own actions.
Thanks for the great feedback on the new site and the early birthday wishes! And yes - I would say that it is quite possible a Bit & Bridle iPhone app may be on the list =)
