My 30th Birthday Celebration & Scavenger Hunt

When I woke up this morning, I knew today was going to be a great day.  After a wonderful night of sleep, it was time to wake up and enjoy the day.  Today, I was not only celebrating a birthday - but more importantly saying goodbye to being a youthful twenty-something.  As of 6:20pm, I am proud to say that I am now officially thirty.  Yup; that's right - the big three-oh.  Thirty.  

To celebrate this special day, I would be undertaking a birthday scavenger hunt that my wife had carefully planned over the past few weeks.  On the surface, I thought I would be able to cruise through the hunt within an hour or so at most.  My wife had informed me that she had thirty clues spread around the house and around town.  No sweat.  The task at hand was simple.  I simply needed to start the hunt around 11:30am and then wind back up at the house for a small BBQ with family and a couple friends.  No sweat.  

What unfurled during the hunt was an afternoon of fun adventures, travel, and a whole host of unexpected surprises.  And if that wasn't enough, there was a huge surprise awaiting for me at the end of my journey...In honor of the love and hard work that went into this scavenger hunt - and all of the fun and mystery that I experienced - I felt it would be fun to photograph this adventure and share it with you all.  On that note, I will be taking you along with me on all thirty clues over the next few days or so.  Are you ready to share in the adventure?  I hope so!
