Proposal by the Water's Edge in Mid's Park (Lake Placid, NY)

It's hard to believe, but exactly two years ago today I had proposed to my wonderful wife - right in the heart of Lake Placid at Mid's Park

Some moments stay permanently etched in your mind - and this particular memory remains one of my all-time favorites. The world, it seemed, was frozen for a few minutes on that day.

I recall how nervous I was - wanting to make sure that my proposal was fitting for our relationship.  My worst nightmare was to be "that guy" and fumble around for the right words; in a worst case scenario basically asking "...so...how 'bout it?"

I did not have anything prepared or rehearsed, so that moment relied solely on me winging it. Would I be able to maintain my composure amidst all of the excitement, anticipation, drama...and also under the watchful eyes of those who happened to be in the park witnessing this event? There is only shot when you drop down to one knee and begin the proposal - you either nail it or...well, hopefully you nail it as I don't believe one can "bounce back" from a fumbled proposal!

As it turned out, things worked out great.  I managed to consolidate my thoughts into several effective - and concise - sentences.  For those of you who are avid readers of mine, you may think this is near impossible - but it happened...really!

And now, here we are - two years later - approaching our first anniversary as a married couple in a few months and still totally in love.  Like that store in Lake Placid, life IS good.
